Base Invaders! Fortnite will get you Building Epic Forts and fighting to defend them!

Base building is the name of the game when it comes to Epic Games new IP "Fortnite!" The new game is currently available in early access for gamers who have pre-ordered and will be available for everyone else on the 25th of July 2017. Fortnite infuses a colourful art style similar to that of Overwatch and building mechanics similar to games such as Minecraft. Piece that together with online co-op play and you're on to a winning combination.

Building a base (or Fort) is the main concept of the game, most missions/quests are centred around protecting an objective by building defences around it before a horde of husks' try to destroy it. At this point, you and your fellow team mates have to defend it using traps and array of weapons all of which you can create from schematics that you have either found in game or been awarded for completing previous mission.

Epic Games do mix up the mission types a little to bring some variety. One of these missions involves tracking down and rescuing survivors hidden throughout the map which is a welcome change from some of the early missions where you are tasked with protecting the Atlas which is used to close gates in which hordes of husks spawn from.

Getting your head around the base building elements of the game could be more daunting to a new comer though, especially while under pressure from attacking hordes. Don't fret though, below is a beginners' guide video to base building and will leave you feeling more confident on the basics of the building mechanics within Fortnight.
