The first thing I noticed on loading into Spearhead Games Action RPG "Omensight" was the striking colors and art style of the game. I literally had a "Wow" moment.

Right from the opening scenes when you are told about the impending doomsday of the world of Urallia you are plunged into the action.

You are the "Harbinger" a Warrior out of time sent to stop the end of days. You have the power to travel back in time which allows you to replay events, over and over again. Use this to piece together a murder mystery that surrounds these catastrophic events.

While fighting your way through levels using a fast fluid fighting style you will team up with some colourful characters. You can fight alongside song-slinging bard, an army captain, or a bear who likes Beer as much as me! They all have varying accounts of how the world met its demise.

Each character has their own unique power which you can control to your advantage. You to come armed with some decent powers including the Harbinger's Warp Combat Flow which slows time allowing you to rush in to defeat your foes. You can also power up your Blade to dish out more devastating effects amongst even more powers which you can upgrade along the way. While platforming through levels the camera will often change from the 3D perspective to a more classic 2D view. The game changed these angles automatically and although they worked smoothly most of the time, there were moments when I found this a little jarring. This didn't happen often though and not enough for it to ruin my overall experience of the game. I did feel it added a nice flair to the already beautifully designed levels.

Omensight comes packed with a fantastic narrative. You are dropped straight into the murder mystery of the Godless Priestess "Vera" you are tasked with uncovering who committed this great crime. A crime that not only left the people of Urralia unprotected but also leads to the summoning of the Giant Snake Voden, an avatar of the great void and devourer of Worlds.

As you play through the levels you will uncover clues and learn new skills that will aid you in your quest. Skills such as being able to open magic locks for instance. Once opened these levels branch off and will lead to more clues that will hopefully help you defeat the evil that set Doomsday into motion.

Narrating this gripping story is some fantastic voice acting, all of which is delivered amongst an epic soundtrack. Not only does the game have some great sound effects it also has an adaptive soundtrack. This changes at certain points in the game to really add impact to an encounter.

Overall my experience of Omensight has been fun.

Spearhead Games has done a fantastic job on this colourful action-packed indie game. With a strong story, fluid combat and fast-paced action Cringey Dad Gaming have scored Omensight a 9 out of 10 For Outstanding.

For a game that is just £18.99 on PS4, this is a bargain. Omensight is out now of PS4 and PC. You can check out the games website HERE
